Hi Everyone! It’s been a long month and I’ve missed thinking and writing about how we can make each day a little nicer, a little brighter, a little kinder, and filled with a lot more love for ourselves and more importantly, for those around us!
I’ve had some health issues recently complicated by living in a high altitude. Nothing too serious. However, combine that with getting Covid (yes, I followed all the protocols!), and then getting snow at the end of April and 8 inches more the first week of May, my husband and I decided it was time to head for a lower altitude and warmer weather.
I recovered quickly from Covid and began the search for a new place to call home. Of course, this isn’t the best time to be looking for a new home as the real estate market is crazy. So, while my husband prepped our house for sale, I began looking for a new place to call home.
Did I mention God is good?
While we haven’t sold our house yet, I was able to find a home in an area that is difficult to describe. The homes were built in the ‘70s so they are older and each one is unique as are their lots. The neighborhood is magnificent. And it is just that – a neighborhood and not a development. It is tucked away from the main streets in its own secluded area. There is enough space between homes to provide privacy and yet allow us to visit if we choose. The land behind us can’t be developed making the property feel much larger than it is. Massive oak trees dominate the area making canopies over the streets and yards while still letting in ample sunlight.
Our house faces east/west so we will be blessed with the morning sun in the master bedroom and beautiful sunsets in the evening as we sit on the back deck looking out over the marsh behind us. There is a peace I felt there I cannot describe. It was as if God was calling me to this place to help pull me out of being caught up in this world. It felt like an oasis, a paradise, some place I could rest and heal.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
Did I mention God is good?
There were four offers on the home and the owners accepted ours. I was able to get all the inspectors out the day after we were under contract. We refused to be in control of this move and gave it to God to guide us and as always, he has provided at every turn. Every roadblock thus far has been resolved and I truly thank God for carrying the load as we make this transition in our lives.
While this adventure hasn’t been smooth sailing, it has reinforced to us that God is always with us and when you listen and obey, he takes care of making it happen. God IS good!
I’m so excited for this next chapter in our lives and for the next chapter in my relationship with my Savior!
Have a Blessed Day!
