Are you afraid of failure? Or maybe you are afraid of success? How about both? This is something with which I struggle. What happens if I try and I fail? How will I feel? How will I overcome the disappointment that comes with failure? Will I be able to look at myself in the mirror or look others in the eyes without feeling embarrassed? Will others view me as a failure or is it all in my head?
And what if I succeed? Can I handle success? How do I stay successful? And if I don’t, then what?
The problem with all these questions is they are rooted in the things of this world. Charles Stanley makes this assertion in his July 14, 2020 In Touch entry.
“The impossible becomes possible for those who believe God and do not doubt.
If we doubt, we won’t answer the call or complete the job.”
For years, I doubted I had what it takes to write a blog. And I still struggle at times with that doubt. Yet here I am. Yes, I’ve just started and that is the point – I started, I began, I took that first step in doing the thing the Lord has called me to do.
Matthew reminds us in Chapter 21:21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
Have faith in God and what he can do through you. If you stumble, that’s okay. Start again. Don’t give up. If it were easy, anyone could do it. God chose YOU!
Just for Today – Open you mind and heart and believe in
what God can do through you if you will let Him!
Jesus looked a them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 NIV
